Holly Newell

Associate

Overview

Holly focuses her practice on corporate and commercial litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery and other Delaware courts, with an emphasis on contractual disputes, issues of corporate governance and control, books-and-records matters, Section 225 actions, stockholder derivative actions, and claims arising from mergers and acquisitions.  Outside the courtroom, she also represents committees of boards of directors in corporate investigations.

Holly’s trial experience includes representing Venator Materials PLC in a bet-the-company litigation involving dueling claims for breach of contract.   Following an eight-day jury trial in the Complex Commercial Litigation Division of the Superior Court, the Ross Aronstam & Moritz team secured a directed verdict for Venator, on both its claims for a $75 million break fee and the $400 million counterclaim filed by the defendant.

Before joining the firm, Holly served as a law clerk for Chancellor Andre G. Bouchard in the Delaware Court of Chancery and for Judge Richard A. Paez in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
